FLORA – Senior left-handed pitcher/outfielder Tori Luke of Tri-County Academy signed her national letter of intent on Thursday to continue her softball career at Northwest Mississippi Community College.
"Tori will be an anchor in the circle for us next season," second-year assistant coach
Carie Dever Boaz said. "She is a tremendous athlete and will most likely be playing in the field when she is not pitching. Her bat is one that will help us win a lot of games."
Luke helped the Rebels win their first-ever MAIS 2A State Championship last season over Leake Academy en route to state MVP and first team all-conference honors. She missed her junior year with a knee injury but was also named to the MAIS All-State Team as a sophomore.
Luke went 25-7 in the circle with a 1.92 ERA and 135 strikeouts in 152 innings of work. At the plate, Luke hit .505 with 16 doubles, 55 RBIs and 25 runs scored while slugging .716 with a .574 on-base percentage.
Mike Rowan is the head softball coach at Northwest and enters his 12th year with the program in 2015.
