Ranger Baseball Adds South Panola's Towles

BATESVILLE – Senior pitcher Austin Towles of South Panola High School has signed a national letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Northwest Mississippi Community College.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound right-handed pitcher/first baseman was 2-5 with a 2.37 ERA, a save and 51 strikeouts in 53 innings pitched for head coach Justin Reed and the Tigers this season.

Towles is the 11th signee for head coach Mark Carson and the Rangers for the 2015 class.

"Austin has a very high ceiling," Carson said. "He has a great idea of how to pitch and will only get better as he gets physically stronger on the collegiate level."
