LAKE CORMORANT – Senior third baseman Kayla Casey of Lake Cormorant High School has signed her national letter of intent to continue her softball career at Northwest Mississippi Community College.

"Kayla is a great infielder who can play anywhere and will be an anchor for us defensively," first-year assistant coach Carie Dever Boaz said. 

A 2014 First Team All-DeSoto County selection, Casey helped lead the Lady Gators to a 26-3-1 mark this season and second round berth in the 5A Fastpitch Softball Tournament.

Casey hit .292 with three doubles, a home run, nine RBIs and 15 runs scored in 30 games this season.
