Rangers Host Pearl River in Best-of-3 Series

SENATOBIA – Northwest will host Pearl River on Friday-Saturday in a Best-of-3 first round state playoff series with the winner advancing to the state tournament next weekend. 

Northwest, 29-12 overall and winners of 10 in-a-row, are the north's No. 2 seed while Pearl River, 24-16, won its final two games to clinch the south's No. 3 seed.

This marks the fifth all-time meeting between the two teams and first since 2010, with Pearl River owning a 3-1 advantage. All four previous games were decided by two runs or less.

First pitch of Friday's game is set for 4 p.m., with Game 2 set for noon on Saturday and a Game 3, if necessary, following 30 minutes after. 

Cost is $5 for non Northwest students, faculty and staff.
