Ferguson Listed as a Top 200 Juco Prospect

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Perfect Game has unveiled an updated ranking of the Top 200 Prospects in this year's junior college draft class, and sophomore right-hander Matt Ferguson of Northwest has made the list.

A 6-foot-2, 195-pound product from Arlington, Tenn., (Arlington HS) Ferguson is listed at No. 198.

Ferguson went 7-2 with a 3.65 ERA and a pair of complete games in 13 appearances last season for the Rangers. In 55.2 innings of work, he struck out 36 against 25 walks while opponents hit .273 against him. He allowed two earned runs or less in six of 10 starts on his way to MACJC Second Team All-State honors.

Ferguson is a University of Memphis signee and chose the Tigers over interest from Alabama, Delta State, Mississippi State, Murray State, Ole Miss, Samford, South Alabama and Southern Miss.

Northwest had four players selected in last year's MLB First-Year Player Draft and is expected to have several more prospects in the mix again this year.
