J.G. Lipscomb Inks with Northwest Baseball

TUPELO – Tupelo Christian Prep senior pitcher/utility player J.G. Lipscomb signed his national letter of intent on Thursday afternoon to play for head baseball coach Mark Carson and the Rangers next season.

Lipscomb (6-2, 175 pounds) was a Class 1A All-State shortstop and a Perfect Game USA All-American Honorable Mention as a junior. He's a .342 lifetime hitter with two home runs and 47 career stolen bases.

"From growing up as a kid playing t-ball to machine pitch to travel ball with my buddies, now high school and now the next level, this is probably one of the best feelings I've had in awhile, if not my whole life," Lipscomb told WTVA's Jim Holder at Thursday's signing.

Lipscomb is the eighth signee for the 2015 class.
