Northwest Scores Big Road win at Ark Baptist

Box Score LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Led by six scorers in double figures, including a team-high 16 points from Kieth Broome Jr., Northwest held on for a 105-100 road win at Arkansas Baptist Monday night in front of a raucous crowd.

Northwest improved to 4-0 on the year, its best start since 2005-06, while the Buffaloes dropped to 2-4.

In a back-and-forth contest that saw 10 lead changes and eight ties, ABC led by as many as nine and Northwest held an eight point lead early in the second half.

Trailing by nine with 5:11 left in the first half, Northwest outscored the Buffaloes by 10 to close the half and take a 47-46 lead into intermission.

The run continued into the second half, giving the Rangers a 54-46 lead thanks to a 27-10 spurt.

ABC responded with a run of its own to retake the lead, 65-58, with 12:56 to play, outscoring Northwest 19-4.

Sophomores De'Sean Dockery and Sebastian Petty scored a combined 22 points off the bench down the stretch on 7-of-12 shooting, with Petty's 3-pointer with 7:13 remaining giving Northwest its final lead at 81-80.

Northwest hit 11-of-22 3-pointers on the night by seven different players, with redshirt freshman Nathan Turner hitting three in the first half in his first collegiate start and both Ashton Woodson and Petty adding a pair.

Northwest's bench outscored ABC 72-42 on the night, led by Broome's 16. Dockery and Petty scored 15 apiece, Woodson added 14 and both Turner and Sharwyn McGee chipped in 13 apiece.

The Rangers host Hinds on Thursday, Nov. 13 at Howard Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
