Rangers Land Bree Thompson from Mag Heights

SENATOBIA – Senior first baseman Briana Thompson of Magnolia Heights signed her national letter of intent on Thursday to continue her softball career at Northwest Mississippi Community College.

"Bree is a great young lady with a big future ahead of her," first-year assistant coach Carie Dever Boaz said. "She is physically very strong and has a great work ethic. She plays first and outfield and will add a ton of depth to our team."

Thompson helped guide the Lady Chiefs to a 25-8 record last year and third place finish in the state. She hit .309 with two doubles, a triple, two home runs and 26 RBIs and also fielded .933.

"Bree is an aggressive baserunner and forces the defense to make errors," Dever Boaz continued. "She is a mulit-sport athlete, so when she gets to finally focus on softball 365 she is going to take her game to a whole new level."

Thompson is the sixth signee in the Northwest softball class of 2015.
