BATESVILLE – North Delta senior pitcher Peyton Rico signed her national letter of intent on Friday to continue her softball career at Northwest Mississippi Community College.

"Peyton will be a player that will fit into our rotation well," head coach Mike Rowan said. "She has a good fastball and breaking ball and we're hoping to develop her into a more complete pitcher. She's also a great student and another local get for us."

Rico appeared in 19 games last year for the Lady Wave (28-9), boasting a 1.75 ERA with 74 strikeouts and six shutouts in 82 innings pitched. She was selected as a North AA All-Star and was an all-district selection her junior and senior years.

Rico is the seventh signee in Northwest's class of 2015.
