STRAYHORN – Strayhorn High School utility player Hanna Hunter signed her national letter of intent on Friday to continue her softball career at Northwest Mississippi Community College.
"Hanna is a great sign for us and will mean a lot to our program," head coach
Mike Rowan said. "She's got great speed and is a slap-hitter from the left side. It's always nice to land local talent."
Hunter has started all but one varsity game since her seventh grade year for the Lady Mustangs and will be a team captain for a fourth consecutive year as a senior. She's played outfield, first and short during her career and will be listed as a utility player for the Rangers.
A three-time first team all-conference selection and conference MVP as a junior, Hunter's helped Strayhorn win three district titles in the last four years. She has a .452 lifetime batting average and is closing in on 200 career hits.
