SENATOBIA – North Delta golfer Alan Larson signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his golfing at Northwest Community College.
"It was a tough choice, not to go to Ole Miss and do what I had planned, but I wanted to play golf one or two more years," Larson said.
Tuesday, Larson was surrounded by family, school personnel and coaches as he signed.
He will stay on campus at Northwest and his godmother, Ethel Clark, said she will be there every day to look over her baby. Clark has been with the Larson family for 21 years. Alan is 18.
"I don't want him to go off to college. I want him to be back in the first grade," she said.
Larson has not declared a major and will just take basic classes at Northwest. He hopes to transfer to Ole Miss or any other school that will let him finish out his golf game at the next level.
He said that he had a few options to choose from where he could golf, but Northwest fit his game best. Larson also has a few friends at Northwest.
