Bench Comes up Big in 81-63 Win over Tigers

Box Score SENATOBIA – Dajon Reno and Aston Morton scored 16 and 12 as part of 50 bench points and Northwest rolled to an 81-63 win over Northeast Monday night at Howard Coliseum.

Northwest won its third straight to move to 6-4 overall and 2-0 in the north division, while Northeast dropped to 3-8 overall and 0-2 in division play.

Northeast scored the game's first two points, but it was all Northwest after that. 

The Rangers built an 11-point lead at the half, 36-25, and poured it on the final 20 minutes leading by as many as 23 with 6:41 to play. 

Reno scored 12 of his game-high 16 in the second half as Morton and Tristan Moore followed with 12 apiece. Gavin Robinson had eight points, six rebounds and career-high five blocks in addition to seven points and career-high eight assists from Courtney Shannon.

El Paso Johnson-Pitts was the lone Northeast scorer in double figures with 16 off the bench.

Northwest will return to action on Thursday, Jan. 9 as they travel to Arkansas Baptist for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
