Ranger Stadium at Bobby Franklin Field
Ranger Stadium at Bobby Franklin Field is the home of the Northwest football program, winners of four national championships (1982, 1992, 2015, 2020).
This beautifully landscaped, lighted facility features a high-definition video board, home concession stand, seating for approximately 2,500 spectators and home/visitor restroom facilities.Â
In recent years, the stadium has undergone extensive renovations with the addition of artificial turf, a track bordering the playing surface and an entirely revamped visitor's section, featuring a new press box, new metal bleachers and upgraded restroom facilities.
Ahead of the 2021 season, the home stands also received a facelift with expanded handicapped seating and the addition of a game operations booth, which was added to replace the original press box facility. A year later, a multipurpose building was added near the southeast end zone to welcome special guests, featuring an extended patio for outdoor viewing.
The $5 million Ranger Football Complex was unveiled at the start of the 2017 football season in the north end zone. The facility has home/visitor lockers, multiple team meeting/film rooms, signing room, training room, coach offices, player lounge, weight room, aquatic rehab center and much more.
In 2005, the field at Ranger Stadium was named for longtime head coach Bobby Franklin who retired at the end of the 2004 season. Northwest is 40-22 at home since the ceremony and has brought in over 80,000 fans. The largest crowd(s) at Bobby Franklin Field were record-breaking attendances of 3,143 and 3,089 against East Mississippi during the 2017 season.
Pets, tobacco, weapons and firearms are not allowed at the facility or anywhere else on the Senatobia campus.
