Sophomore shortstop Jay King had a breakout month of February for the Rangers, who went 7-3 overall, hitting .469 (15-for-32) with four doubles, a home run, seven RBIs, nine runs scored and three sacrifices. He had a .688 slugging percentage and .528 on-base percentage.Â
King went on to gain MACJC and NJCAA Player of the Week honors on March 4 due to his stellar play.Â
In 14 starts this season, the Bruce native is hitting .432 with four doubles, a triple, two home runs and 11 RBIs. He has also scored 14 runs, drawn seven walks and stolen a pair of bases.
