Bryant Mix of Water Valley, who played defense for the Rangers in 1991 and 1992, received Honorable Mention in the NJCAA and JC Gridwire All-American selections.
     
Mix went on to play at Alcorn State University, where he was selected All-SWAC in 1994 and 1995. In 1995, he was honored as a Black College All-American. During his Alcorn career, he held the record for the most sacks in a game, and the most in a season. 
     
He played for the Houston Oilers, Tennessee Titans and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 
     
Mix currently coaches both track and football at Water Valley High School. At Water Valley, he lettered in football, baseball, track, and basketball, He played on Water Valley's 1990 Class 3A State Championship team.
