Amelia Perkins Signs to Play Volleyball at MUW

Second member of 2022 squad to sign to next level

SENATOBIA - Another member from the historical 2022 Northwest volleyball team has signed with a four-year program.

Defensive specialist Amelia Perkins signed with the Mississippi University for Women on Tuesday afternoon, becoming the second Lady Ranger to sign from last year's squad and the fourth four-year signee for coach Allison Burchyett in the last three seasons.

A native of Olive Branch, Perkins spent one season with Northwest, playing in 22 matches and recording 11 digs. One of her most notable efforts came in a victory against Champion Christian College back on October 1, when she tallied five digs and three assists for her season-high in both categories.

Perkins and Northwest finished with a 15-14 final record last season, a stretch that included the program's first Region 23 title. As a result, the Lady Rangers advanced to the FCSAA/NJCAA Division II Gulf District Tournament, dropping the opening match to St. Johns River State.
