Logan Eldridge Voted MACCC Pitcher of the Week

JACKSON - Sophomore pitcher Logan Eldridge is ending his Northwest career on the highest of high notes.

Less than 24 hours after signing with Delta State University to continue his pitching career, the Arlington, Tenn. native was chosen as the MACCC Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday morning. The award is nominated and voted upon by the conference's sports information directors.

In his final Northwest outing in last weekend's Sophomore Day split against third-ranked Pearl River, Eldridge delivered a career-defining performance, helping the Rangers to a 3-2 victory in Game 1. Eldridge went the full nine innings against the Wildcats for his second-career complete game, tossing 10 strikeouts against two walks. The lone two runs he allowed came in the top of the sixth inning and the win helped keep Northwest in the postseason hunt.

Eldridge is only the second Northwest player to earn MACCC Pitcher of the Week accolades this season, joining Brooks Rice, who earned the honor after throwing 15 strikeouts in a shutout win against East Mississippi on March 7.

Eldridge is one of four Northwest pitchers bound for the four-year level, joining Rice (Samford), Brayden Sanders (Memphis) and C.J. Lofton (Mississippi College).
